Each of our customer organizations has an account manager. Their role is to work in partnership with their organization to deliver real value. These relationships are transparent, honest and up front. We choose our account managers carefully.
Richard Edwards
Richard is the Affinity Director for the UK and Ireland. Richard has over 20 years experience in the UK financial services sector starting his career at Barclays Bank plc in 1986, he moved on in 1989 to Chartered Trust the Asset Finance Division of Standard Chartered Bank plc looking to specialise in the area of financial sales. He achieved success in all of the business divisions, achieving and still holding the title of the youngest ever branch manager within the Personal Finance Division at just 21 years old, he went on to successfully hold senior positions in all three business channels of the business [Personal Finance, Motor Finance and Retail Finance]
In 1999 Chartered Trust was acquired by Lloyds TSB plc, who rebranded the combined organisation launching ‘Blackhorse Finance’, the creation of the UK’s largest Asset Finance organisation was an incredible opportunity for Richard to position himself with the new senior team, he left Blackhorse Retail Finance in 2007 as National Sales Director having achieved all of his personal ambitions.
In 2007 he joined CUNA Mutual as Affinity Director UK & Ireland to take on a new challenge in both new products, and new markets.
Bobby Gould
Bobby is a Support and Sales Manager for CUNA Mutual Group. He joined CMG in August 2001 to work with the Credit Unions in Scotland and this appointment was his first introduction to the Credit Union movement
His employment with CMG has allowed Bobby to work closely with a number of Credit Unions in Scotland for the past seven years. This has strengthened his personal belief in Mutual ideals and ethos. A graduate from the first Development Education program in the UK (2004), he continued his support of the program by mentoring in 2005 and 2007. He is also non-executive director for a UK-wide Credit Union.
In the time Bobby has been working with Credit Unions he has been lucky to meet and learn from Credit Union activists around the world, including volunteering for WOCCU at the International conference in Rome 2006 and Dublin in 2007.
His contribution has been recognized by CUNA Mutual Group when he was awarded “International Account Relationship Manager for 2004.” In 2007, Bobby was the first employee from Europe to qualify for and attend the CUNA Mutual Group President’s Council.
Bobby has been in the insurance industry since 1993. Prior to CUNA Mutual Group he was employed as Business Development Manager within what is now the Aviva group of companies. Responsible for relationship management and business development with 12 National insurer accounts delivering c.£25m GWP. He worked on the creation of a number of white label affinity deals to deliver Insurance Services via household brand names.
Simon Clarke
Simon is the Account Relationship Manager for the key account Credit Unions in England and Wales. He joined CMG in May 2004, and his responsibilities are to help Credit Unions develop and grow their business with the help of CMG products and services.
Simon’s been a business manager in the insurance industry for the past 19 years. He’s worked with both insurance and corporate company’s of all sizes, and has extensive experience of customer / business development.
In his spare time Simon enjoys working out at the local gym, off road mountain bike time trail racing and enjoying quality time with his wife and two children.
Lucy Shardlow
Lucy Joined CUNA Mutual in November 2002. Throughout her career in CUNA Mutual Lucy has held various positions. Lucy began as a claims administrator progressing to become office manager; she then made the transition into an Account Relationship Manager and most recently Support and Sales Executive.
Prior to joining CUNA Mutual Lucy worked in an engineering company for four years. Lucy’s role was maintaining the accounts department. Lucy has also been a team leader of a restaurant where she oversaw a twenty strong workforce.
Lucy has completed courses in Sage Accounting, levels I, II & III. She has also completed the Association of Accounting Technicians, foundation and intermediate levels; all of which were completed at Sutton Coldfield College, Birmingham. Lucy is also a DE after attending the 2007 Development Education UK programme.
