Karl graduated from Manchester University with an honours degree in Computing and Information Systems in 1989, following which he spent a year as the General Secretary of the University of Manchester Union.Karl then spent six years with KPMG in Birmingham UK were he qualified as a Chartered Account and subsequently progressed to Audit Manager. During his time at KPMG, Karl specialised in both Construction and Financial Services, being the Audit Manager of one of the UK’s major high street banks.
Karl left KPMG in 1996 and then spent 4 years in importing and distributing with a subsequent two years in the healthcare Industry.
In 2002, Karl returned to the financial services industry becoming the Financial Controller and Deputy General Manager of the UK branch of CUNA Mutual Insurance Society. During his time at CUNA Mutual, Karl has had significant role in CUNA Mutual returning to Ireland and the formation of CUNA Mutual’s Group of Companies in Ireland which Karl relocated to Ireland to assume the role of region’s Finance Director.
