CUNA Mutual Group’s expansion into the Building Society sector continues to gather momentum with the commitment of The Penrith Building Society, this really does confirm our market positioning of being able and willing to deal with the biggest and the smallest of Societies. The Penrith Building Society is one of the UK’s smallest Building Society’s with just under 7000 members. That said it’s been trading since 1877 and can hold its own amongst the larger financial institutions in the Penrith area where it has a loyal following. The Society is firmly committed to remain independent and mutual. And whilst small, the Society has had its fair share of awards clearly punching above its weight. In fact the Penrith Building Society has been recognised by ‘What Mortgage’ publication by winning awards in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 for great value products that charge borrowers less!
Work is underway with the Society to launch later this month.
