Barry Scholey is our latest edition to the CUNA Mutual UK Team.
Barry is Risk, Compliance and Business Development Manager for CUNA Mutual Group having recently joined in October 2009.
He has 15 years experience in the financial services sector having worked for both HSBC and HBOS in the UK. Having started with HSBC at the age of 18, he worked his way through every role in branch banking to become one of the youngest managers in the area at the age of 25. From there he branched out into business banking as a Commercial Lending Manager.
In April 2007 he joined HBOS as a Business Development Manager within the Cumbria area, and by April 2008 he was Business Development Area Manager for the North East & Cumbria.
Barry’s key responsibilities will be providing expert advice on the Fidelity Bond, prevention and claims, and ensuring FSA requirements are met. Other responsibilities include working within the sales management team within the UK to help grow the business, and provide support through training, reviewing of current systems, processes and procedures, and implementation of new strategies. He will also ensure that all procedures are rigorously enforced to provide the optimum levels of customer service.
